Various Vignettes: Special Surprise

Once upon a time there was a girl, about 17, who worked at a summer girls camp. She was selfless, kind, and loving to all those around her; especially to the young twelve-year old she was in charge of. During camp, when she would be away from her family, her long-awaited 18th birthday would come and go. Not thinking of herself, she kept working all day on her birthday, consciously knowing she sacrificed a party back at home for this job. That's okay, it's just one birthday, she thinks, it's worth it.

Little did she know that back at her home, the family had been planning for weeks the party she would have upon coming home for the short weekend. It was Harry Potter-themed, with decorations and treats that would set this party apart from the rest. And on top of that, a total surprise! She had never had a surprise party in her life, let alone one four days after her birthday.

When she walked into her home, after a good two hours of stalling (made possible by grandma & mom), she just cried and looked around at all the smiling faces of family members who had come for this special occasion. After hugs all around, her family knew all the secret-keeping and planning was worth it. And she deserved it. All of it. Happy 18th Birthday Sunny!
