One Eventful Wednesday

This night was way crazy, but superbly FUN! First, the college was throwing a party/dinner for all the art students. We were to come and throw/roll out our own dough and we each got little cups of ingredients to choose from. Then the prepared pizzas were thrown into a brick kiln-like oven outside for about 3 minutes--crazy, right? This girl next to me put bananas on her pizza and said that her grandpa is from Brazil and he does that, it was actually really good. All the pizzas ended up being delicious!

Before we met over at West Campus for the party, I still had my photography class to attend. I showed up and we lectured for about an hour before the power went out, and not just in the library, in the entire town. They evacuated us outside and from there, I hitched a ride with some other students to the party.

Upon arriving at West Campus, I found an old friend from high school who I didn't know attended here. So we chatted it up and ate tons of pizza, until we were full. Keep in mind--the power was still out so we were making/eating pizza in the dark; it was great fun! Try making homemade pizzas by cell-phone light, it will definitely leave you with some wonderfully fun memories.

I went home laughing at all the events that had taken place so far. It was funny because there were people just wandering the streets because there is really nothing else to do. Maybe to the outsider, all the people walking around made it look like a zombie apocalypse or something akin to that.

Once I got home, I saw K playing solitaire by candlelight and I couldn't help but laugh. Soon E came home and we just sat and laughed about the power going out--pretty much like the best night of this semester. The lights soon came on, but we left them off for a bit, just chatting with flashlights/candles. Ha, we probably looked really pathetic, but whatever. So that ends my exciting and eventful Wednesday night.

We weren't sure what to do with all the lights

"A Princess for a Knight"

The Institute hosted a dance called "A Princess for a Knight"--it was fabulous! My date was so sweet and funny, I couldn't have asked for a better night! There were 24 people in our group total, so we split up for dinner groups. All the girls in the apartment below me are some of my best friends and they all had dates for that night as well. We decided to make crepes & smoothies for the boys and just chat/get-to-know them better. All 24 of us met for some group games, as sort of a "day activity" and that was super fun and we definitely made some new friends. Overall, the dance could've lasted all night and I still wouldn't have wanted to go home. The music was great, the food delicious, and the company even better!

Funny face, anyone?

Funny story: They said, "Quick picture!" So I started to
run over and they had already snapped the photo.

A Weekend At K's

Normally my weekends consist of doing laundry, homework, cleaning the apartment, so on and so forth. But this weekend, K and I decided to head on down to her home in Richfield for a fun and relaxing weekend.

The first day consisted of going to her sister's hair salon for a tour; it was so cool! She had a "dungeon" in her back room, you had to lift the secret latch/door on the floor and go down some steep steps, but it was awesome! It is one of very few buildings that has original brick-work still standing. From there, we went to her sister's home, which was beautiful to say the least. A little retro-esc, but still fabulous. Following dinner, games were played (Scum, Phase 10, etc…). Then we watched a movie and went to bed.

The next morning, we were woken up by K's brother, M, who pounced on the huge bed until we got up. There were delicious pancakes, sausage, and eggs waiting upstairs for us. We then went to their grandmother's house to visit, which was so much fun, just talking and laughing around. Her grandma suggested we take to her to a local diner/fast food place, and that was amazing. They had these HUGE corn dogs that were so delectable, in fact, that's all I want to eat right now.

After K's dad and bro left, us girls went shopping at some local stores and found some great sales. That night, after shopping till we were dropping, we went back over to her sister's house for some dinner followed by some TV. After returning home, we watched a couple more movies and talked our heads off until we fell asleep. Packed up and did laundry the next morning and headed out back for school. After this superbly fun weekend, it was extremely hard to return.
