Fun Friday

A couple weekends ago, my best friend K came to stay with our family for the weekend. It was extremely fun! The first thing my Grandpa said when we pulled up (from a 2 hour drive) was to put some gloves on and get to work. We were to pull up bushes, trim trees, etc...until the front strip was clear of all that debris. I was regretting my decision to invite K but soon realized she was happy to help and we had a great time getting it done. There was a ton of laughter, hitting each other with branches, and muscle-building going on while filling up the huge dumpster. K even got into the dumpster to crush things down--she's a trooper! Although we didn't completely finish in the end, it still looked good.

After we got cleaned up, my Dad treated us to Red Robin for dinner. K had never been so we had to (it's one of our fam's favorites), we had no choice, ha ha. We were so stuffed I swear we were waddling home! The following morning it was back outside to take down the big cherry tree in the front. A good two hours and hard work brought it finally tumbling down. Grandpa VS. Cherry Tree, it was quite a sight.

Overall, a busy, tire-ding but fun weekend. Now just looking forward to Spring Break!

Friday Favorite

Been trying out new recipes from my past ward's cookbook and some of the recipes are fabulous! Normally trying new ones doesn't really work out for me, but this recipe is a keeper. I just have to share it: it's delicious! K even enjoyed it, and if she did, so can you!

Italian Chicken:
4-5 Chicken Breasts
1 Pkg. dry Italian dressing
1 Cube Butter
1 (8 oz.) Cream Cheese
1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup

Melt butter and add dressing mix, coat chicken breasts and cook in crockpot 5-6 hours on low (or 350 oven for 1-1/2 hours) or the same for a Dutch oven. Last hour of cooking, add cream cheese and undiluted soup and put on chicken. Serve over fettuccini noodles or rice.

Cupcake Craziness

What makes a better weekend than cupcakes and a movie with one of your very best friends? Nothing! So that's exactly what went down last weekend. I started by going to H's apartment just to talk for a minute, and I ended up running back to my apartment for a movie and cupcake makings. We made butter-flavored cupcakes, never had them before, but they were delish! Then we iced, decorated, and talked/laughed for over two hours! Ha, then finally we started the movie: Monster's University. Never seen that either and it was so adorable. We talked endlessly about boys, school, and everything in between and before we knew it, it was almost two in the morning; it's a good thing I didn't have school the next day! I love hanging out with H and all the girls from her apartment, we've made some great memories so far and I only hope to make many more. Love her!
